Borat is hands down my most favorite movie of all time. I could talk endlessly about it but I will get to the point. The director was fa-nominal in the way he made this movie. He took the different classes of america and really expressed how they are viewed and how they view others. Being a foreigner myself I felt really close to the main character because, that is how I felt when I moved to america in a way. The director did a fantastic job with relating to stereotypes and the views from others. Borat was a reporter from Kazakhstan that took his best friend with him to make a documentary about living in america. He met all type of different races such as ghetto blacks, Rich whites, and Rednecks from a foreign perspective. The gaze in this was amazing because Americans got to witness the average feel for how it is to be a foreigner in a different country. We got to witness America through Borats eyes and feel/see what he was going through. The sound in this movie was also very sharp and detailed throughout. Borat encounters a bear throughout his journey and takes it for a ride in his ice cream truck, and when the bear roared it scarred away all the children wanting some ice cream. This movie is hilarious and i highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen it because it is truly a masterpiece. This movie shows that you shouldn't judge someone on their outside but for the person they are on the inside.

Movie outside of class - Borat
Borat is hands down my most favorite movie of all time. I could talk endlessly about it but I will get to the point. The director was fa-nominal in the way he made this movie. He took the different classes of america and really expressed how they are viewed and how they view others. Jaws - The Second time
At the beginning of the semester we watched the movie Jaws. Watching it the for the first time already blew my mind. We had to watch it at the end of the semester with having this new knowledge we were taught throughout the semester, and I have to say I definitely appreciated this movie more. I don't know where to begin on this. First of all I never realized how sound was so important in movies, and Jaws was a great example of master sound. When the 2 men went out to hunt for the shark , the ocean sounded so crisp and easy on the ears. Even when they were battling the shark, the way the sound was set up made it so much more dramatic and really made me feel the environment they were in. Next what I have noticed was the way the director decided to shoot this movie. He really developed all of the characters in their unique way. The captain of the boat was just a bad ass with no fear , and then he has this scientist with him who at the beginning was a measly man who was very afraid of this shark. But then you get to see the transformation throughout of the measly man turning into a brave shark slayer. It shows that the average man can be bigger than life if he really tries. The Gaze is also something that should be considered in this movie because there were so many different views from everyone. The captain, The police officer and the scientist are the biggest influence of the gaze throughout and I really recommend anyone who hasn't viewed this movie from a critic standpoint to check out those 3 things I have mentioned and see the big difference watching it again.

Children of Men
Children of Men was about what would happen in the world if women stopped being fertile and weren't able to reproduce. The main plot of the movie is that there is a girl who actually got pregnant and this guy has to safely escort her to a safe heaven type place. There are people hunting them down and trying to keep the women for their own use, so the man goes through some crazy and intense situations just to save this girl. From a Shot perspective this movie was perfect. It had many different shots throughout and was a good example of different shot techniques. Some examples of these were the Panning Dolly shot, The Zoom, Low and High angle shots, and some POV. This was very beneficial for making the movie what it was because for people that don't know too much about camera angles or what shots they like to use for movies this is good for them to understand the different ones to choose from. My favorite out of all was the use of the Zoom. It just makes me feel as if I am the one who is actually wanting to take a closer look into the movie itself. Not only did the Angles and Shots stick out but some nice lighting was portrayed as well. We got to see some Key light, Fill light and even some Back light throughout the movie. I Highly suggest this movie to anyone who is interested in making a movie because Lighting and shots are one of the most important things other than sound used for making films.
Princess Bride
The princess bride I have to say is one of my most favorite movies. It has so many genres packed into one movie. It can be classified as an Action, Adventure, Comedy, Parody in a way, and Romance. The camera movements in the movie were awesome, I personally am a big fan of wide shots, where we see almost everything that is occurring in the scene, and this movie was full of it. The story line itself was remarkable because it isn't our typical guy saves girl but a story about how true love can overcome anything. The man that fought for his bride had to leave her and make sacrifices and then when he saw that she was to wed another he came just in time to the rescue. He overcame a giant, a master swordsman , death, a genius and the Princes whole army just to be with his love. I also like the development of characters throughout the movie. We see the giants gentle side, the swordsman's forgiveness, and the Princess learn that true love does exist. From a critics point of view id say the acting was great, shots were excellent, scenery was beautiful, and just an Overall amazing must see movie.

The movie "The Gaze" was mainly about exploiting the different types of Gazes. The movie begins with the Spectator Gaze because it feels as if we are looking through a window and observing what each neighbor is doing. After about 20-30 secs in we in fact find out that it is the Intra Diegetic Gaze instead when we see the man looking through his window.. Throughout the whole movie this man Jeffrey goes unnoticed and we the audience get to witness how he is a "peeping tom" and hasn't got caught yet. Throughout his viewing he pays a certain attention to his foreign neighbor. He notices that the man and his wife have been arguing a lot and the man leaves at awkward times at night with a briefcase. When I first saw this I thought that the viewer was crazy and was just overreacting because he was bored and had nothing else to do. But then throughout the film we notice that the mans wife is gone; What was so dramatic about this was the fact that she was sick and couldn't get out of bed. So the main character started snooping a little deeper by getting his girlfriend to go in the Foreign mans house. Things went bad for the woman as the man entered his house and found her, he almost strangled her to death but the police saved her right on time. This was also an important scene because the Foreign man was the first person to notice Jeffery and went to go pay him a visit. Long story short Jeffery still Gazes through his window at the end of the movie.
